How ever if there is one holiday that is almost universal especially in the west; it's Christmas. Celebrating it in China is not very easy, as some of the usual foods are not readily available. While walking down the street you are not bombarded by a Santa Claus and his elves at every store, and there are no crazy holiday shoppers that I have seen. Being in China reminds us what a holiday like Christmas is about. It's not about the gift sand the crowds not even about the liquor…well maybe it's a little bit about the liquor. Seriously though it reminds us that beyond the great consumerism extravaganza it has become at home Christmas is about coming together with the people who are close to you and celebrating all that is good in life. This year a few friends and I will try to acquire all the ingredients for a proper Christmas dinner; Turkey, Roast Potatoes, Gravy, Wine. Invite people, gather round a table with a nice meal, and remember what the true meaning of Christmas is. Of course it wouldn't be Christmas without going to the pub after dinner!
