　　Tourism is an English-taught academic programme offered jointly by NHTV Breda and Wageningen University. As the first of its kind in the Netherlands, this scientific programme deals with developments in tourism and the interrelationships between tourism, the economy, society and the environment. You will learn how to study tourism from different scientific perspectives. After graduation you can apply your knowledge on the sustainable development of tourism, or continue your education with a master programme.

　　一、Programme of Tourism

　　Tourism is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. As such, it is important that students develop a broad understanding of the tourism domain. The BSc Tourism curriculum is designed to meet this goal. In the course of the programme, students move progressively towards increased educational independence. Educational guidance is at its height during the first year and gradually decreases over the next two years. The first two years of the programme take place at NHTV in Breda. The third year takes place in Wageningen. However, most courses (in all three years) are co-taught by instructors from both NHTV and Wageningen University.

　　Year 1: introduction to the tourism phenomenon (NHTV)

　　You will become acquainted with the disciplines of sociology, economics, geography and environmental sciences and their respective contributions to the study of tourism. The basic disciplinary courses offer an overview of core concepts, theories and authors. Courses use lectures, seminars and excursion as the main teaching methods.

　　In the second year, you will be introduced to development- and cross-cultural studies, organization and consumer behaviour, philosophy of science and ethics, and tourism system analysis. You will also learn about the management of tourist destinations and expand on your research skills. Year two finishes with a four-week international field practical in Southeast Asia (or another region).

　　Year 3: broadening your view (Wageningen University)

　　Year three takes place at Wageningen University. You will learn about the latest innovations in management, policy, technology and sustainability in relation to tourism. In the first part of the year, you will choose and complete a minor. You can choose, for example, a minor in international development studies, management studies or environmental science. You can also complete your minor at another university or even in another country. In the final semester of the programme, you will finish your course work and complete a Bachelor thesis.

　　Dutch students can be admitted to the programme with:

　　1.A Dutch vwo diploma. All vwo profiles are eligible: N&T, N&G, E&M, C&M. For the C&M profile: Mathematics A is required

　　2.A diploma (propedeuse) from the first year of a four year hbo programme. Please note that sufficient knowledge of mathematics and English is required

　　International students can be admitted to the programme with:

　　1.An International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, including Math Standard or Math Higher.

　　2.A European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma, including Mathematics (3 hrs).

　　3.Another secondary or high school diploma that equals the Dutch vwo diploma, including Mathematics and English.

　　The BSc Tourism is given in the English language. All applicants, except native speakers, must provide recent evidence of their spoken and written command of English.

　　The following qualifications are acceptable as evidence of proficiency in English for entry to the BSc Tourism programme:
