1. You need a method
Do you have a technique for every aspect for IELTS test?For example, do you have a particular way of writing introductions, or an approach for paragraph heading’s question in the reading test, or a technique for giving a longer answers in Speaking Part 3? If you have a method for everything, you will feel much more confident going to the test.
第一，你需要找到一個方法。這點很重要，展開講一下，你先問一下自己，是否已經掌握了雅思考試各個方面的技巧?比如，你是否掌握雅思寫作開頭段的寫作技巧，或者你有沒有學會雅思閱讀中的Heading題型的做題技巧，又或者你是否能在雅思口語的Part 3中作出長的回答?如果你對雅思考試的任何一個方面都掌握了一定的技巧的話，那么你會對考試更加自信的!
2. Small improvements
You will not find the special technique that will lead to a dramatic improvement in your scores. Improvements happens slowly, when you work on the small things, like adding 1 or 2 good items of vocabulary to an essay, or understanding one particular grammar mistake that you often make.

3. Less testing, more preparing
If you always test yourself, your score won’t improve. Just test yourself maybe once a week, and spend rest of time preparing. This could mean working on vocabulary for IELTS topics, or working slowly through reading test using a dictionary, or writing a model answer for speaking question.
第三，少做測試，多做準備。如果你只是經常做測驗而不去總結，那你的分數也不會提高。你可以一周做一次模擬測試(像真正的考試那樣)，而用其余大量的時間用來準備。這就意味著，你要去準備不同雅思話題的詞匯，要借助字典去讀懂一篇雅思閱讀文章，或者為每個雅思口語問題寫出答案。
4. Understanding is not the same as using
Many students think they know a word when they only understand what it means. In my view, you only know a word when you can use it correctly in the full sentences.
第四，知道什么意思和知道怎么使用是兩回事。許多同學認為他們認識某個單詞，因為知道這個單詞的意思。然而在我看來，你只有知道怎么用它來造句的時候才能說自己真得認識那個單詞。
5. Learn from your mistakes
This is probably the best way to improve in terms of grammar, and exam techniques. If you make a grammar mistake, you need to understand what you did wrong. If you get a wrong answer from a reading or listening question, underline your mistake and correct it carefully.
第五，要從你的錯誤中吸取經驗。這可是提高語法和考試技巧的最棒的方法了。如果你犯了語法錯誤，你必須要知道你為什么犯錯;如果你做錯了某個閱讀或聽力題目，一定要仔細地弄清楚這道題并改正它。
